Understanding of Charlie Chaplin’s “Speech of the Great Dictator”

download

The understanding of this short speech (transcript below) is a keystone for understanding globalization.

First of all, it is a pleasure to watch and read it. A similarity to globalization. (Those for whom globalization is not a pleasure have not the privilege to attend a class about it.). And isn’t the message great and its delivery a masterpiece of art? The “message is the massage” said Marshall McLuhan. Kindness, cooperation, humanity, liberty, democracy, “a decent world”, without national barriers! We should all unite for these ideals.

Aren’t the values and ideals of globalization the same? Liberty, human rights, Unity of Nations, no nationalism, brotherhood of mankind, education, democracy, one world?

The video is perhaps the leading video in terms of motivational speeches. “Let us fight for…” means: overcome your laziness and fear and do the right things! We all want this. Greed and selfishness is an error, a misunderstanding of our human nature. “Only the unloved hates.” Even bad people just need to be loved and all will go in the good direction.

Always, when it gets too positive, you should remember yourself as a small child. What was your first creative action? Destroying things! Later you have learnt that this is not nice. But it is a natural way of learning and the very first expression of creativity, of looking for truth. The ancient Greeks called this method analysis: taking apart. (Economy students may have heard about Schumpeter’s “creative destruction”).

This shall be our first scientific step, then followed by synthesis, putting the pieces again together and getting a better perspective on the bigger picture.

It can be called deconstruction, too. It follows the assumptions that not only houses can be constructed but also mind sets which then seem like normality. (Compare the first chapter in Robbins “Global Problems”: The construction of Childhood). This notion follows the assumption that there must have been someone who constructed it. So the principal questions of the first inquiry are: “What” and “Who?” Often the “Who” hides behind the result, the process, the system. And vice versa, when we focus on personalities and forget about the structures and forces behind the apparent players. A good compromise is hence to look for hidden players. (Educated people and especially those with academic dignity usually are so proud of having mastered the complexity of systems and their complex language that going back to such childish questions is tantamount to losing face, so be indulgent with them.)

Let us analyze the speech. Get into an artificially destructive kind of detective Sherlock Holmes mood and ask: maybe it is the opposite! This nice guy in reality is the bad guy. And this is not a gift but poison, mind manipulation, a masterpiece of propaganda! How can I prove this thesis? By looking for contradictions in the text.

And here we go: You will find a lot of them. Just a few hints: machinery, progress, reason, liberty, fight, power to the people, kingdom of God, national barriers. These notions are used in different connotations in different parts of the speech.

So please now re-read the speech and then continue:

To make it short: The key part is the end of a sentence at the end of the third paragraph: “…victims of a system which makes men torture and imprison innocent people”.

Until the words “a system” the speech was a deep and passionate criticism of capitalism, of our system of the West which is mutilating and destroying the very cooperative nature of man, his heart qualities. “We want to help each other.” And the listener may feel happy that finally these words are said by someone in a prominent position. But then he switches 180 degrees without any warning: “which makes…” is the starting point of the passionate claim to fight the other system, the enemy’s system, the evil dictatorship. The audience knew that this was Germany and its fascism. Like a perfect seller and magician, he swaps the product in front of your eyes but so fast that you did not notice it. “Buy this: a natural juice.” And then suddenly it is a soda drink with the same appearance. And who would mistrust Chaplin and his eyes?

The moment of the magic trick, there is a despairing women on the screen, his beloved one. So you will be even more distracted. Besides that, the speed is getting faster and the voice louder.

“We feel too little and think too much”. No, my dear manipulator, do not worry, we think not too much. And we do not question you because we feel that you are right. And the truth in your words is so beautiful. Go on telling us what we want to hear! We will follow you.

We do not need national barriers, we need free trade, we need one world government in the name of democracy that “makes life a beautiful adventure”.

But truth is seldom beautiful. Mostly she is naked so that educated people help her and cover her. Lie must be beautiful, otherwise no one would accept her.

The orator pushes us to build a new world where finally all have to work. A decent world. This is truly the best: love what you have to do. Aldous Huxley mentioned that the ultimate revolution will be that the people will embrace their slavery, will defend their masters. Important book: Brave New World.

huxley

In the first classes, when I presented the categorization of corporate, mainstream media on the one side and the free and so called alternative media on the other side, and uttered my experience that most lies are to be found where the big money is, so that we have to be extremely critical towards all media and our perception of them, most of the European students did not like that and soon quit the class. Another trigger for the frustration with such an approach was the presentation of doubts around the official 9/11 story in the occasion of 17 years of war on terror. Which is in my view just the easiest way to train the “destructive” skills of falsifying a theory. A totally necessary method in science. Nobody needs to know who really did 9/11, although there are…ok, it is really not important. (Such is the opinion of the great critic of corporate capitalism, Noam Chomsky). It has nothing to do with wrong directions of thinking and “conspiracy theories” which over and over I have to stress out is a label coined by the CIA in 1967 in order to discredit, ridicule and discourage the normal thinking and investigating process of normal people, by that time the majority of the US population.

So please defend whatever you want but not those who have infinite power and money. They can do it on their own, especially since 1885 when the US law granted the corporations the same rights as persons. So try to be reborn next time as a corporation. Do not defend the masters. Defend your right to be free, to have a world for your children, your open mind and the openness to any results of your inquiries.

Charlie Chaplin was not a poor man, he was extremely rich and had close contact with the most powerful men. In the twenties, in New York, in the entourage of Roosevelt and other great men, he had met a man called Ernst Hanfstaengl who happened to be the discoverer of Hitler. Read the article of David Livingstone: “Adolph Hitler – Agent of the Round Table.” Hitler was a project of the Anglo-Saxon power and banking elite which can easily be verified in many books. For the start, just google Bush and Hitler. You will see that Prescott Bush, the grandfather of Bush Jn. who was in office during 9/11, financed Hitler. His son was the head of the CIA during the assassination of JFK and on the day exactly 10 years before 9/11 for the first time announced the necessity of building a new world order. Another agent of the CIA, by the way, was Osama bin Laden. 20 years he served the interests of the USA.

So, although the movie is very old, made in 1940, the forces behind the scenes seem not to change a lot. When you read more and more books and ask simple questions, you will find the same fingerprints everywhere. One simple question could be: Where did Germany and Japan get their oil from during WW II? How could it be that Germany was totally in debts and ruined after WWI and in a few years after the rise to power of Hitler could attack the whole world? Of course, by external support. The fascist Germany and the Soviet Union were both projects of forces which wanted the Eurasian natural power center of the world (the World Island according to Mackinder) once and for all weakened and controlled.

Interesting detail: Chaplin and Hitler are born on almost the same day and year.

Today, we have similar speeches/doctrines against the Russian and Chinese evil systems. Do the forces behind the scenes create a new hot world war? Or does the technological progress allow them to just play the war games and keep people in fear? Or is the WW III long time already going on, but it is an invisible war with silent weapons? If so, what would be the criteria to prove this thesis?

What, if this ongoing war is not even between the NATO block and China/Russia, but simply between the few on the top of the pyramid and the rest?

Then the Chinese and Russian regimes are not really antagonists to the US hegemony, let alone their better alternatives. James Corbett made a great work in elaborating the thesis of China as the model of the real new world order. Just search China and the NWO.

“More than machinery we need humanity”. What is the human nature, what do we really need and how can we survive? Are there forces which want to replace us? Key words: transhumanism, eugenics.

Whenever it comes to great ideals, religion is not far. The orator quotes the Bible, the third author of the good spells (gospels) about Jesus. Actually, there might have been more than eighty different gospels in the first centuries, but only four were canonized by Rome.

“The kingdom of God is within man.” That sounds good! (Although misquoted). And it leads directly to the affirmation of democracy. So Jesus was the first fighter for democracy, for the power to the people idea.

Really? Not the opposite? What about his “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s”? In other words, don’t molest the rulers and rich. Kingdom of God means first of all of God, not of men!

And there is an interesting evolution of the definition of that kingdom of God within the gospel tellers. The first two, Marc and Matthew, quoted Jesus in the sense that it will come soon, in a generation or so, just wait! Then it did not come, and Luke as number three had to symbolize the very idea: don’t you see, it won’t come because it is already here, in your heart! Nice trick! (But in the gospel of Thomas we read a similar phrase, so it may be closer to the truth than the other versions.) And John, the last one, wrote in detail about the last days but in a way that this will happen in a future quite far away so that all generations of Christians have been inspired to look for fitting criteria for their epoch.

Now, that may sound like ridiculing religion. I am far from that. Nothing is worse than the consumerist atheism of our days. And the exploration of the “Spirit of Capitalism” is very exciting. (Max Weber’s “The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism” showed that Protestants have a religious reason for participating in capitalism. Since almost everyone is preordained to be doomed because of original sin, the only way one could know if one was select (not doomed) was to be a successful capitalist. So make money – ad maiorem gloriam Dei.)

Christianity and capitalism is a very fruitful field of study. The most essential benefit from the Christian dogma to capitalism can be perfectly seen in Chaplin’s speech as well as in today’s ideology of “political correctness” of the so called left: It is: “We are the good ones.” We are the personification of the most beautiful values of charity and democracy so that anybody who has doubts must be a sick and wicked person! Hence the abundance of words with –phobia at the end, distraction from the facts, intimidation by discriminating notions, avoiding dialogue. Actually, this is fascism. Mussolini described fascism as the merger between state power and corporations. The perfidy is to claim “to do away with greed, hate and intolerance” and not tolerate the other part. Audiatur et altera pars!

The Greek word for devil is diabolos: the one who turns all upside down and downside up. Mental perversion. And that is the main driving force in this “we are the good ones” ideology. Blame the victim! “All is relative” is another great nihilist argument which helps to avoid acceptance of facts. “Did you say facts? There are no facts. There is no truth.” (Infopainting about “extremophobia”)

How was this made possible? There must be a special mind controlling technology at work, comparable with the Chinese fine dust. It passes by our mental immune system (of which Henri Bergson speaks in his famous quote), so there is no reaction. To the violent oppression of traditional dictators people always knew how to defend themselves, but not to invisible penetration.

It is important to know that there are two fundamentally different groups of people who are “fans” of the apocalyptic scenarios described in the Bible. The majority just waits. This is the less harmful group. A minority is playing God, “helping” Him, giving Him a hand. Remember the hand of God of Maradona? But much worse than in football: These people are very dangerous when they happen to be rich and powerful because they need wars and much more bad things to fulfill the prophecies! That sounds crazy for normal people but it is enough to prove that they are doing it. Their true religion is satanism. (Why does Microsoft insist to write it with capital letter?) It is the idea that the period before the golden age aka Paradise for the selected ones must be as dark as possible. The worse, the better! The darker the tunnel, the closer the light. The evil and misery they create are not only collateral damages but intended! Key words – Chabad Lubavitch.

The most influential satanist in this understanding was Karl Marx, financed by Rothschild and therefore never talking about banking dynasties. He was waiting for the inevitable collapse of capitalism as the precondition of the paradise on earth…and we are still waiting for it today. The goal of promoting Marxism was probably to absorb all the other Socialist movements under one roof – controlled by dark forces. Case study: The Soviet Union was created by agents of the Wallstreet.

They not only finance both sides of wars and conflicts for getting the maximum of profit but have long term goals which reach over centuries. This is only possible with dynasties, family ties, so called bloodlines. And there are many authors specialized on the history of the power elites of the world. Most of the people shy away from these facts because they are too embarrassing and challenging: you have to review your worldview and ethics. You may have supported the wrong forces. And now it feels bad to admit this. This pain is called cognitive dissonance. Understandable definition in Wikipedia. But Wikipedia, of course, does not link this psychological phenomenon to the politico-social insights which are now so easily available to everyone with Internet connection.

Religious understanding of reality is needed for survival of mankind. Our highest religious value is that of compassion, the idea of a good God. Chaplin had found the right words here. Except that it must also be extended to animals, nature. Instead of “you are not cattle!”. Compassion opens to eyes to the suffering of other beings and helps to overcome the satanic system which dominates the planet. The system works by the invisibility trick: don’t ask where your smartphone comes from, where your animal products comes from, and we won’t show it to you, it is all ok, have a nice life and a void conscience. Out of sight, out of heart, as we say in Russia.

That is in short an interpretation following the analytical method. Can you still adore this masterpiece? Of course. Replace “dictators” with “rulers behind the scene” and see the speech as the perfect expression of such a soft dictatorship where you are not thrown into a prison for a wrong question, but just politely excluded from the educated part of humanity.

And you may even justify Chaplin: That is the ultimate way he could criticize the ruling system, otherwise the movie would have been censored or forbidden. From 1940 to 1943 the US rulers had the difficult task to once again motivate the Americans to fight a war far away from their land.

But on the other hand, a messenger has to foresee the probability of how his message will be perceived by the majority of people. And the majority still has not understood the magic of how deeply it is manipulated. Further inquiry: Edward Bernays, the nephew of Sigmund Freud, father of PR. Video: Torches of Freedom.

For his movie he got into troubles, the censors in the US blamed him as communist. So he left the US for…Switzerland. A country which does not persecute people for their communist ideals. Remember Lenin who prepared there the Russian Revolution? Actually, the country doesn’t blame anyone, even not dictators, as long as it can store their money. And it is a central land for the UN, for the meetings of the world’s richest people in Davos and much more.

And there is a unique bank, the BIS: Bank of International Settlement. Founded after WWI when the forces in the power elites had to face the hard situation that the fighting parties could not fight on in 1915! So the war had to be ended. Very bad! But luckily they managed to keep on financing. Lest this happens again, the BIS was founded before the WW II and so not only the Western allies, but also Hitler could perfectly exchange the stolen gold to fresh money for his army.

“Splendid isolation” was a term used for short periods of the US history without a war on foreign soil (in 240 years over 200 wars), “splendid neutrality” could be used for the Switzerland.

Do we as individuals have the choice to be neutral? Since ethics and especially the Golden Rule is a part of our human nature, we cannot but try to do the good and support the truth whenever we discover the difference between good and evil and truth and lie in a particular case.

So let us all unite! But not follow any authority, only the truth and the heart.

Fresh clips about the “Deep State”. Well done for young people. Second video is about the drug and pop culture for the next time when you listen to K-pop. Following the Q wave (pro Trump bias!): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGKth5iUVAk

Fresh article with insights on the bloodlines. Impossible to read and “learn” this stuff. Just so show you that there are curious people out there who dedicate their time for bringing into the light many names which are totally unimportant to the mainstream opinion. https://ahuwahzeus583992924.wordpress.com/2018/07/12/new-world-fascism/

The Great Dictator’s Speech
I’m sorry, but I don’t want to be an emperor. That’s not my business. I don’t want to rule or conquer anyone. I should like to help everyone – if possible – Jew, Gentile – black man – white. We all want to help one another. Human beings are like that. We want to live by each other’s happiness – not by each other’s misery. We don’t want to hate and despise one another. In this world there is room for everyone. And the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone. The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way.

Greed has poisoned men’s souls, has barricaded the world with hate, has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed. We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in. Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical. Our cleverness hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery we need humanity. More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost….

The aeroplane and the radio have brought us closer together. The very nature of these inventions cries out for the goodness in men – cries out for universal brotherhood – for the unity of us all. Even now my voice is reaching millions throughout the world – millions of despairing men, women, and little children – victims of a system that makes men torture and imprison innocent people.

To those who can hear me, I say – do not despair. The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed – the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress. The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people. And so long as men die, liberty will never perish. …..

Soldiers! don’t give yourselves to brutes – men who despise you – enslave you – who regiment your lives – tell you what to do – what to think and what to feel! Who drill you – diet you – treat you like cattle, use you as cannon fodder. Don’t give yourselves to these unnatural men – machine men with machine minds and machine hearts! You are not machines! You are not cattle! You are men! You have the love of humanity in your hearts! You don’t hate! Only the unloved hate – the unloved and the unnatural! Soldiers! Don’t fight for slavery! Fight for liberty!

In the 17th Chapter of St Luke it is written: “the Kingdom of God is within man” – not one man nor a group of men, but in all men! In you! You, the people have the power – the power to create machines. The power to create happiness! You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure.

Then – in the name of democracy – let us use that power – let us all unite. Let us fight for a new world – a decent world that will give men a chance to work – that will give youth a future and old age a security. By the promise of these things, brutes have risen to power. But they lie! They do not fulfill that promise. They never will!

Dictators free themselves but they enslave the people! Now let us fight to fulfill that promise! Let us fight to free the world – to do away with national barriers – to do away with greed, with hate and intolerance. Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where science and progress will lead to all men’s happiness. Soldiers! in the name of democracy, let us all unite!
